About Bunnings Warehouse

The Bunnings Group, which trades as Bunnings Warehouse, is an Australian family household retail hardware chain. Bunnings is owned by large corporation Wesfarmers, and has so since 1994. Wesfarmers owns and operates Bunnings stores located both in Australia and New Zealand.

Bunnings was initially founded back in 1986 in Perth, Western Australia, by brothers who had resettled from the United Kingdom. The company initially focused on saws and sawmilling, and it became a public listed company in 1952. The brothers consequently extended into the retail sector, acquiring numerous hardware stores.

In the mid-1990s, Bunnings began expanding across other states, and they opened its first warehouse-style property in Melbourne in 1995. The Bunnings chain currently has approximately 290 stores, and they employ over 30,000 staff.

Bunnings is renowned for arranging and running various community events - both outside and inside their stores, including their famous sausage sizzles, and DIY workshops on multiple home topics for families.

Bunnings Warehouse offers a wide diversity of supplementary services, both onsite and at people’s homes. The in-home services comprise mainly of product installations and assembling, labour and product quotes and consultancy for various DIY projects and products. The onsite store services include a tool rental or hire shop, a spare parts enquiry counter with expert staff, paint colour matching and mixing services, various key cutting services, tests and testing of sample pool water, and gas bottle container swapping.

Bunnings has a well-known, and publicised, objective to provide their customers with the most extensive range of home enhancement products, in accordance with their lowest prices policy - all backed by the best service they can provide.
